Killer Cluedo

I loved playing Clue (original UK name Cluedo) when I was young. I still do, but I have also discovered rules for a variation called Killer Clue. I love this variation, where the murders continue during the game, and the killer can win by killing all the other suspects. The rules to that game can be found here.
The rules document for the variation includes printable cards for the game, and there are many. I was inspired to makes some cards of my own design that could be used with either Clue or Killer Clue. Mine are designed to be printed on standard poker size playing cards (63mm X 88mm) with appropriate bleed, cut, and text safe areas using the template provided at Printer's Studio, so if you are so inclined, you could print and play with these. Well, once I finish a whole set. You still need to own Clue for the board and whatnot. For Killer Clue, you'll also want to print those on the same size cards, which can be done with just a little modification.
First I created the 6 classic weapons.
I may add other weapons later.
Then I created the standard rooms.
Those rooms are nice, but kind of boring, so I've filled the rooms with dead bodies.
Of course those victims are also going to be my suspects to replace the traditional ones. I'll have more than 6, so players can pick different ones each game. The original patent for Cluedo had 10 anyway (1 to be murdered, 1 left out, and the others to be playable suspects).
Those are more than enough to use in a standard game of Clue, but not for Killer Clue. Each suspect in Killer Clue needs 5 cards in addition to the suspect card; Suspect Murdered, Suspect Disappears, Suspect Distracted, Suspect Goes First, and Consult with Suspect. I've grouped them by suspect.

I'm taking a lot of the renders that were incorporated into these cards at Killer Cluedo Supporting Art.
I would definitely purchase that version of the game!
ReplyDeleteYou certainly could, with a little effort, once I've created enough cards.
DeleteDid you ever see the movie "Clue" that came out in the 80s and was based on the game? My favorite scene was when the maid, Yvette, played by the very hot at the time Colleen Camp, gets strangled with the rope in the Billiard Room and ends up sprawled dead across the pool table.
DeleteAbsolutely, and that was my favorite scene too. I loved that they replayed it each time they went through a different explanation of what happened, and still I kept replaying that scene.
DeleteI love how they had three different endings and that they put all three on it when it came out on video. I remember on the TV commercials when it was first released to theaters the one line said, "Whodunit depends on where you see it!" I think they did that just to get people to go see it more than once!
DeleteThere was a play like that, that had a bunch of different endings/solutions, and they played a different one every night... but without advertising it first; it just came to light as people saw it and compared notes.
DeleteThat sounds familiar, but I can't quite recall what it was.
DeleteIn hindsight I should probably have started with the books about improving my observational skills.
ReplyDeleteYeah, one of those books in the pile in front of you rather than the fictional crime novel you're currently reading. 🧐
DeleteI like Niella's first move.
ReplyDeleteThank you. What do you suppose I found in the trunk?
DeleteA pile of murder weapons from the rest of us?
DeleteIt's an unusually sweet moment between Niella and Sonja there, marred only by Irina's unfortunate circumstances.
ReplyDeleteI suppose we could call that marring, but I prefer to think of it as decorating. 😈
DeleteI like Toni's Move First picture.
